Claire is the almost 3 year old daughter of Michelle and Richard Cox of Knoxville, TN.

Claire suffered a stroke before birth in the Left Hemisphere Parietal and Temporal lobes resulting in the inability to use her right side of her body but mostly affecting the right arm and fine motor control of her right hand.

Luckily, Claire is one of few that has been accepted to a one of a kind, world-renowned program at University of Alabama, Birmingham.  The AQUIREc program will cast her left "good" arm, training her brain to use and recognize her right arm. She will undergo therapy 6 hours a day for 21 days. 

With the help of family and friends, Claire attended her first session of ACQUIREc in October 2010 she advanced from 5% usage to 23% usage of her arm. Claire's 2nd treatment program at AQUIREc took place in May- June 2011 and continued to work on her finger grasp. Plans are attending 5 times before 5 years old.

Her 3rd session is May 2012. .
